Event Insurance
Guardian Insurance Agency
You run the event. We guard against the risk.
Events carry moving parts: venues, vendors, guests, gear. Event insurance helps protect your budget when plans change and shields you from liability if someone is hurt or property is damaged.

What Event Insurance Covers
Cancellation & Postponement (Time‑Element Coverage
If a covered cause forces you to cancel, postpone, or relocate, this coverage helps pay:
- Non‑refundable deposits and pre‑paid costs.
- Extra expense to keep the event alive (rush shipping, alternate venue, AV rentals).
- Supplier/venue failure costs when a contracted party doesn’t deliver.
Many policies can include non‑appearance (key speaker/performer), adverse weather, or civil authority (government order blocking access) subject to form and timing.
Event Liability (Third‑Party Claims)
Protects against claims alleging:
- Bodily injury to attendees, staff, or venue personnel.
- Property damage to the venue or third‑party property.
- Personal & advertising injury (policy‑dependent).
Most venues require liability coverage and a certificate of insurance (COI) naming them as additional insured with primary & non‑contributory wording and sometimes waiver of subrogation.
Alcohol at Your Event: Choose the Right Form
- Host Liquor Liability: You serve complimentary alcohol (no sales); coverage for injury/damage arising from service.
- Liquor Liability: Alcohol is sold or a license is involved (bar service, ticketed drinks). Often requires separate limits and specific permits.
We’ll coordinate Fiduciary, Cyber, D&O, Crime, and Workers’ Comp to close gaps.
Helpful Options to Consider
- Adverse Weather / Non‑appearance endorsements (timing rules apply).
- Hired & Non‑Owned Auto (delivery vans, rides driven by vendors or staff).
- Rented Equipment / Property of Others (often via inland marine / equipment floater).
- Terrorism coverage (where required by venue).
- Participant Accident (medical payments for attendees or volunteers).
- Setup/Teardown Dates included in the policy term.
- Cyber (online ticketing/payment vendor incidents).
What Affects Price
- Event type & activities (conference vs. concert; pyrotechnics, inflatables, athletic events).
- Attendance, duration, and venue (indoors/outdoors; jurisdiction).
- Alcohol service (host vs. liquor liability).
- Limits/deductibles and required endorsements (additional insured, waiver).
- Weather season/location and vendor dependency (A/V, catering, staging).
Common Exclusions (Know the Boundaries)
- Intentional acts or expected injuries.
- Professional services (security consulting, medical services need specialty forms).
- Workers compensation for staff injuries.
- Auto liability (use Hired & Non‑Owned Auto if needed).
- Communicable disease/pandemic (often excluded unless specifically endorsed).
- Property of others beyond rented gear unless scheduled.
We’ll align event liability, cancellation, HNOA, and equipment coverage so there are no gaps.
